Istrian Malvasia

Description

Indigenous variety of Istria. Istrian Malvasia wine is a medium-strong wine with moderate acids, pronounced freshness. The color is light yellow with a slight greenish tinge. The primary aromas of ripe Malvasia are combinations of fruity and floral aromas such as apple, peach and nectarine with acacia flower with ever-present mineral notes. The minerality also extends through the taste in the form of mild salinity and a gently bitter finish. The look and style of each Malvasia changes depending on the position it comes from. Malvasia San Mauro from the area of northwestern and western Istria (whose positions are closer to the coast) have a more prominent minerality and are more often combined with delicate fruity aromas such as peach and notes of acacia flower.

About the winery
Wine is a project started by nature and completed by man. Altitude ranging from 200 to 350 meters, sunny slightly hilly landscape, flysch soil and microclimate form a whole where we create the preconditions for the vine to give its best. At this altitude the temperature and structure of the soil are in perfect balance. By hand-picking grapes, we ensure that only the highest quality fruit is turned into wine. The whole process, from growing grapes to wine production, takes place under the watchful eye of oenologist Patrik Sinković, who created the preconditions for constant and recognizable quality.
